Cross-Generation Evolutions:
Generation IV sees the most new evolutions of any previous generation, as well as the addition of 7 new baby Pokemon. This means that Generation IV will add the fewest number of Pokemon to the wild of any previous generation. Just 64 will be added to the wild. Of the new evolutions, only 4 will evolve with no items.New Methods of Evolution:
- Location Based Evolution – certain Pokemon will only evolve in a specific location
- Move Based Evolution – Pokemon must learn a certain move to evolve
